Our Story
How a small harbourside counter became Harbourside's go-to table for coffee, seasonal plates and long lunches.
Where It Began
Sōl opened as a six-table coffee counter on Harbour Lane with one simple idea: slow down and do a small number of things exceptionally well. That idea hasn't changed, even as the tables have multiplied.
We roast our coffee with dedicated local partners, serve pasture-raised eggs, and pour wines from the region's finest estates. From lazy Saturday breakfasts to long afternoon lunches, every visit is designed around quality ingredients and unhurried hospitality.
Today Sōl is run by the same small team of chefs, baristas and floor staff who believe that a great café is measured in returning faces, not covers turned.
Our Journey
How We Work
Eggs, produce and coffee beans come from small regional partners we've worked with for years.
Bread is baked in-house each morning, sauces made from scratch, nothing frozen and reheated.
Every dish leaves the pass checked for temperature, seasoning and presentation before it reaches you.
Our floor team is trained to read the table — quick when you need it, unhurried when you don't.
We'd rather do fewer things well than pad a menu. Every dish earns its place through repetition and refinement.
We know most of our guests by name and their order by heart. That relationship is worth more than a faster table turn.
Whether it's your first coffee with us or your five-hundredth, the bar for what leaves our kitchen doesn't move.
